Pediatric chiropractic is the care of any children, whether they’ve had an injury or not, to ensure their nervous system is free of interference, so the child can grow up as healthy as possible with few to little health concerns in the future.

Why Does My Child Need Chiropractic Care?
This is one of the most common questions we hear in our practice. Caring for children from birth, and even before, is vital to their healthy development. Regular adjustments as the child grows keep their spine healthy, allowing them to grow and thrive.
What to Expect
When parents bring a child in, Dr. Stephen will sit down and discuss why they’re seeking help now. He will examine the child, and depending on their age and ability to stand still, do a posture scan and X-rays, if indicated.
Adjusting a child, especially infants, is much softer with very little pressure, like what you would use to judge the ripeness of a tomato. In very young children, there’s no thrust involved, more of a sustained contact on the area that needs adjustment.
To help the child feel more at ease, Dr. Stephen shows them any tools he will be using and allows them to hold them. He talks to them throughout the adjustment process, and of course the parents are in the room. If the child is still nervous, he can adjust them while they lie on the parent until they’re comfortable being on the table.
A Different Approach
In addition to chiropractic care, we’ll recommend nutrition consultations or changes to diet, and look at supplementation to help the child function better, and remove anything that could be creating or contributing to the problem.
